| The One and Only, Padmasambhava |
Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava, the Lotus-Born One, was instrumental in bringing the Buddhadharma to the land of the red-faced Tibetans. He worked on many levels to tame the area and assure the arising of all the auspicious conditions. By working from knowledge of the fundamental energetic systems of reality, Padmasambhava was able to bring all the opposing forces under control by the purity of his meditative power or siddhis.
Every Dharma practitioner needs to call on their own inner Padmsambhava when things get rough. If we look at the energetic properties of Guru Rinpoche, its clear that His energy blazes forth into the wild, unknown territories so that the Dharma may flourish. When the Dharma is present and healthy, it brings about the end of suffering for all sentient beings.
Sometimes we need that Padmasambhava force to help us out in a tough patch where it seems like we're being bombarded with obstacles and things just aren't operating as they should. For instance, just imagine a blazing Padmasambhava lighting the way in the undiscovered territories of your mind--always leading at the frontier of possibility, shining with the Light of Realization.
