The new year tradition of making resolutions could have roots in how the elemental forces walkabout and shift, cycling through the phases and changes bringing about new circumstances for growth and renewal. If one is not in harmony with this phase shift then obstacles are encountered and imbalances can occur--its like the souring of a musical note.
The past few days for me have been about settling down. My attention had been elsewhere and an adjustment was needed. I'm the type of person who needs a good kick to the ass for me to listen. You can call me stubborn. The kind dakinis will usually give me a hint or two and point me in which direction to go. I'm usually distracted so they have to yell a little bit to get my attention. It is startling but necessary.
Its so strange when plans go astray. Sometimes it seems like some activities are accomplished effortlessly and some require more work and stress. Usually things that are not in your favor at the moment will meet with the most resistance. Those plans fade back into the background and are recycled, saved for a later date.
It takes awhile to process some of the clues that the dakinis leave. The advice lately has been 'stay on the path.' Which I take to mean, 'stop seeking, start practicing.' The past few months have been about building a firm foundation, sharping my motivation and keeping it consistent throughout the day.
Stabilizing.
